Charter School Discussion, Tuesday July 30th
6PM: City School District of New Rochelle Superintendent Dr. Corey Reynolds will facilitate a hearing on an application filed by Capital Prep Charter School with the SUNY Charter Schools Institute seeking to open a charter school in our community. The application signed by Rev. Dr. David Holder states that “Capital Preparatory Charter School New Rochelle will provide historically disadvantaged students from New Rochelle with the college and career readiness skills needed to become responsible and engaged citizens for social justice.”
Community members are encouraged to visit the City School District of New Rochelle’s webpage providing information about charter schools and how a charter school would affect our public schools. Community members are invited to speak at the hearing. Please register by calling 914-576-4219 or emailing the District Clerk and Secretary to the Board of Education at mbonilla@nredlearn.org. In order to speak, you will need to register by 3pm.
Speakers may also sign up in person at the public hearing and will be afforded two minutes to speak. Please note that public comment will be limited to those participating in person.
Following the public hearing, the Board of Education will hold its regular meeting.
You’re invited to attend a public hearing on a charter school proposal in New Rochelle on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. The meeting is at 6:00 p.m. in the Linda E. Kelly Theatre at New Rochelle High School, 265 Clove Road, New Rochelle, NY, 10801. The meeting will be live-streamed on Fios Cable channel 30 and Optimum Cable channel 77. It will also be viewable via the Zoom video conference platform. Join the meeting via the Zoom link here. The Board of Education meeting will immediately follow the hearing.

Reviving Our community
For far too long, the children living in the Lincoln Attendance Zone have existed without any meaningful representation. Childhood is the most crucial mental development stage. We want to give our students a fighting chance to participate in the economy and in an evolving society. Join us in exchanging resources and information to help our children gain a meaningful education!
Preparing for the future
In addition to addressing existing concerns in academia, we will also work with various community stakeholders to provide our children well rounded opportunities for growth. By immersing our youth in innovative programs and activities, we will expand their horizons past the limitations and confine of traditional education that has been failing so many of them for far too long. It is time to break the cycle. Join us on our journey to give our children a future!
